Subject to the following conditions the sealed tender of the right to remove the following quantity of cashewnuts from the cashew godowns of Karaikudi Region, Pudukottai Region and Siluvaichery godown of Vridhachalam Region will be held on 20.06.2003 at 3.00 p.m. at the Office of the Managing Director, Tafcorn, AA/26, Anna Nagar, Tennur, Trichy – 17 by the undersigned or by an Officer duly authorised by him.

1. The
quantity furnished above is only approximate and it may vary. The correct quantity offered for tender will
be announced at the time of tender. No
complaints regarding quantity etc., will be entertained after the tender.
2. The
intending tenderers are advised to examine in advance the stock of cashew nuts
stored in the godown address are given below.
1. Central Cashew Godown, 2) O/o Regional Manager, 3) Siluvaicheryg odown,
. Trichy Road,TAFCORN, TAFCORN, Near Andimadam,
Karaikudi. Machuvadi, Udayarpalayam Taluk
Pudukottai
Ariyalur District.
3. The
intending tenderers should have registered/renewed themselves as contractors for the year 2003 in the
Regions of the Corporation wherein the
cashew nuts are stocked. Unregistered
contractors will also be allowed to participate in the tenders subject to payment
of Rs.1050/-.
On
production of a Demand Draft for Rs.1050/- drawn in favour of the Regional
Manager, Tamilnadu Forest Plantation Corporation Limited, Karaikudi,
Pudukottai, Vridhachalam with an application for Registration.
4. The
tenderers should enclose Earnest Money Deposit of FIVEPERCENT OF THE VALUE OF
TOTAL QUANTITY BIDDED in the form of
Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Managing Director, payable at Trichy on any
Nationalised Bank. Tender received
without E.M.D. will not be considered.
5. Purchasers
who wish to take part in the Tender shall give their offer in the enclosed
tender form.
6. Tenders
should be sent in a sealed cover superscrib “Tender for purchase of Cashewnuts”
and addressed to the Managing Director, TAFCORN, AA/26, Anna Nagar, Tennur,
Trichy – 17 and should be sent to us to reach the undersigned before 1.00 p.m. on 20.06.2003.
7. The
offers received through tender will be opened by the Officer coducting the sale
before commencing the auction and will be kept confidential.
8. The
tender will be conducted taking into account the offers received from
tenderers.
9. The
officers conducting the tender reserves the right to allow or disallow anybody
from participating in the tender and within the premises of the tender without
assigning any reasons therefor.
10. Minors
are not allowed to participate in the tender.
11. Tender
will be conducted in one lot of 5 M.T..
12. The
tenders shall be per kg. of Nuts.
13. The
Managing Director or the Officer conducting the tender reserves the right to
include, exclude or modify any of the conditions. Additions or deletions if any will be announced before
commencement of the tender.
14. Intending
bidders should be present and will not be allowed to bid through agents unless
specifically authorised in this behalf by a proper power of attorney. The authorised agent should produce the
authorisation letter for perusal of the Officer conducting the tender before
the commencement of tender .
15. If the
intending bidder is a firm, a company or a Co-operative society or other institution
the person representing the same shall satisfy the officer conducting
Those tenderers who are duly authorised to bid on behalf of
the Institution shall produce the
necessary papers before the commencement of
tender.
16. The E.M.D. of
the unsuccessful tenderers will be refunded at the close of the tender and that
of the successful bidders retained and adjusted towards value of the nuts they
have taken.
17. The tender is
subject to confirmation by the Managing Director who reserves the right to
accept or reject any bid without assigning any reasons therefor.
18. The tender will be confirmed based on the
offers received in tender and at the discretion of the Managing Director.
19. The successful
tenderer should remove the stock from the Corporation godown in the Regions
referred to above after paying the full value of nuts (less the E.M.D. paid) at
the offered rate within 10 days of receipt of the confirmation order.
20. If the
balance sale value of the nuts (less one E.M.D. paid at the time of tender) is
not paid and the produce removed within ten days of time stipulated in
condition 19 of the tender notice a godown rent of Rs.10/- per tonne/per day
(for failure to remove the stock of nuts) in addition to collecting penalty
calculated at 18% of the amount payable from the 11th day of receipt
of confirmation order to the actual date of the realisation of the amount by
taking less than 15 days as 15 days. 15
days and above as one month towards delayed payment of the balance sale value.
No
extension of time will ordinarily be granted beyond the 25th day of
receipt of the confirmation orders.
However the Managing Director may at his discretion extend the voidah
period with a suitable godown rent and penalty and the decision of the Managing
Director in this regard shall be final.
Failure to pay the dues and remove the stock of nuts even after the
expiry of the extended period will entail forfeitures of the EMD furnished by
the successful bidder and the stock will also be resold at the cost and risk of
the successful bidders who will be liable to make good the loss, if any
incurred by the Corporation as a result of such resale. Profit or gain, if any, by such resale will
accrue to the Corporation only. All the
money due under this tender are recoverable under L.R.Act besides other course
of action open to the Corporation.
21. The
cashew nuts will be packed in bags of 80 kgs., each net. The successful bidder should pay the cost of
gunny
bags.
22. Income
Tax, Sales Tax, Surcharge and other rates and duties if any will be collected
from the successful bidder as per the provisions of the Acts. If the contractor wants exemption of income tax,
he should produce FORM 27C
OBTAINED FROM HIS ASSESSING INCOME TAX OFFICER AS PER THE PROVISIONS
OF INCOME TAX UNDER SECTION
206-C,WITHOUT FAIL, FAILING WHICH THE
RATE OF INCOME TAX IN FORCE WILL BE COLLECTED.
23. Further
conditions if any will be announced at the time of tender.
24. In case of any dispute in regard to the tender
conditions of the tender, the decision of the Managing Director shall be final
and binding of the bidders. The
judicial jurisdiction will be at Tiruchirapalli Corporation.
