Managing Director is running Tamil Nadu Forest Plantation Corporation, Government of Tamil Nadu Undertaking, who is in the cadre of Chief Conservator of Forests is on deputation from Forest Department.  The Corporation have eight unit officers heading six regions and Sandalwood Factory and Flying Squad, who are in the cadre of Assistant Conservator of Forests, working directly under the control of Managing Director.  The General Manager, who is in the cadre of Conservator of Forests is on deputation from Forest Department, the Financial  Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer  and Administrative Officer are  assisting Managing Director on technical, financial and establishment aspect. The Functioning of executive and ministerial staff working in the Corporation are on the same line as that of Forest Department.

The Corporation has full fledged computer net working facilities for improving management information system and office administration.

Total sanctioned strength in all categories, including deputation, in the Corporation is 574.  Out of which, present strength of employees is 527.  These include 503 employees from Corporation and 14 are from Forest department on deputation.

The protection and executive staff of this Corporation namely Ranger, Forester and Forest Guard were empowered to protect the forest lands and its properties entrusted to them by invoking provision of the Tamil Nadu Forest Act 1882 vide G.O.Ms. No.266/F & F (FR.V) Department, dated 12.3.1975.
